The Poecilotheria regalis, known as the Indian Ornamental, is one of the most iconic and widely kept Poecilotheria species in the hobby. Native to India and Sri Lanka, it features the genus's trademark geometric patterning in striking yellow and black, with bright yellow chevrons on the underside of its legs. It is a bold, beautiful, and impressive animal from sling to adulthood.

The Indian Ornamental is often considered the entry point into the Poecilotheria genus — while still an advanced species, it is slightly calmer in temperament than some of its relatives, making it a popular choice for hobbyists ready to step into Old World arboreal keeping.
