The Psalmopoeus reduncus, or Costa Rican Orange Mouth, is named for the distinctive orange chelicerae (fangs) that contrast sharply against its dark, olive-brown body — a feature that becomes especially visible when the spider is in a threat display. Native to Costa Rica, this arboreal species is a fast and capable hunter that builds impressive silken retreats in the upper portion of its enclosure.
